
Are Beans the Magical Fruit?
"Beans, beans, the magical fruit
The more you eat, the more you toot"
I'm sure we've all heard this saying, but is it based in fact? Do beans really make you pass gas? A study by Dr. Winham and Dr. Hutchins has the answer: beans do result in more flatulence. 50% of pinto bean eaters reported more toots. Similarly, 47% of baked bean eaters reported more bottom burps. Sadly, black beans did not fare as well. Only 17% reported positive results.
